Spread the love

Hello, all my lovely rays of sunshine! I know that I have been very inconsistent for a while now. 2020 and 2021 and have brought a lot of unexpected twists and turns to all of our lives. It has definitely been a journey of exploring who we are, what is/is not working in our lives, and how we want to move forward.

I know for me, there have been so many layers that I have personally peeled away, such as facing my fears, healing old wounds, and grieving the loss of my adopted mom. I cannot say that this personal journey of healing and discovery is over. However, what I can say is that I have grown in ways that are hard to explain, and I am proud of who I am and the progress I have made.

I wrote this poem…not with myself in mind, but my significant other saw it and said that it describes me well and really works for this journey I have been on and the women he sees in me. I had to agree.

The Way I See You: By Jenna Gee

I hope this poem moves you. I hope you can see yourself in the message or share it with someone who you know needs the message within it. If you feel called to share on your social media, please tag me @thesunshine_artist on Instagram.

Now, up and onward to something exciting, I would like to share with all of you…I want to inform you of my next creative adventure in the works. I am in the process of setting up a Patreon account. What is Patreon, you ask? Patreon is a subscription membership platform. It provides creators and artists of all varieties with a way to earn a monthly income by offering perks and rewards to the subscribers that want to support their craft.

I have been doing a lot of research on ways creators have set up their accounts (including creatives that I follow). One of my favorites is Nerdforge. OMG, and if you do not know who they are…Martina and Hans are totally worth checking out! I absolutely love their creativity, enthusiasm, and overall art style. If you are into things like medieval fantasy, they make fantasy books, clothing, and so much more. Recently Martina painted a mural on their new workspace that they expanded into. Let me just say, chef’s kiss to that one!!

Anyway, I digress…I love the setup of their different Patreon membership levels (Novice, Apprentice, Journeyman, Craftsman, Master, and Overlord). Plus, they really know how to build a sense of community that is really important to me. All this got me thinking…what would I name my Patreon community, and how would I incorporate that into a theme for the different membership levels?

After much deliberation, I landed on combining the terms crafting and magic. I want to incorporate all the different types of art that I am currently vibing with, along with the concept of crafting a story, poem, etc. Plus, many of you know, I am always incorporating magic into my stories and encouraging others to embrace their own unique magic…so of course… I landed on the title Crafting the Magic Within.

I want to build a sense of community where you tap into your creativity and your own inner magic. Of course, this led me to the idea of using beings that crafted their magical skills and abilities. I ended up going down the rabbit hole of exploring the roles of witches, wizards, sorcerers/sorceresses, enchanters/enchantresses, magi, magicians, alchemists throughout different cultures, literature, movies, and games over time…as well as the modern concept of witches and wizards and bringing magic into everyday life. Now, my goal is not to offend anyone and their culture or beliefs. I want to have fun and create a sense of community, where you are crafting your own brand of magic through connecting with your creativity.

The breakdown of different levels will be as follows:

Level 1:

Beginner witch or wizard, you are new to the craft and connecting with your own sense of magic. It is okay to start small. Go ahead, experiment, try it out and see what works best for you. After all, we all have to start somewhere. Not to mention, there is much value in starting off where you are and knowing that is enough.

Level 2:

Hedge witch or wizard, you like to keep it simple, nothing too fussy, a minimalist approach is best. Your art of crafting has elements of nature, the unknown, and tradition infused with your own signature blend of magic and Intention.

Level 3:

Eclectic witch or wizard, you like to keep your options open and go with what feels correct for you…trying a mix of this and that. You always find yourself exploring new ways to express yourself and like to have lots of options at your disposal.

Level 4:

Crystal witch or wizard, you love shiny things. You cannot help longing to feel them, connect with them, and add them to your collection. You might not be able to explain it, but you find yourself drawn to crystals, gems, rocks, and stones. There is something about their unique color, shape, texture…and most importantly, how they make you feel. You know their one-of-a-kind value and want to add it to your valuable collection of unique gems.

Beyond this, I have not figured out what each level will entail or how much it will cost per month based on the perks and rewards available under that level. I am still thinking about including a few more subscription levels and deciding on a start date. I just wanted to let you know what’s happening on my side of the world and where I’m at currently with things I’m working on. This is something I want to be well planned out for my own sake, as well as for the sake of the community I’m creating.

I know it’s easy to get ahead of myself and try to do too much. That is why I’ve been putting a lot of time and research into creating this. I have listened to several Patreon Members and their experiences. It’s given me a lot of insight into what feels most tangible to start off with and helped me see blind spots I might have otherwise missed. I want it to be fun for myself as well as the community that I’m creating.

Now, I will leave it here and open the floor to your thoughts and feedback. I look forward to hearing what you all have to say!!

    1. I know right! She is awesome..I always tell my hubby, I would love to hang out with her…he says it’s because we both have such a contagious playful and creative energy…lol 😉

  2. I love your passion, braveness and boldness to make this happen! Your poem is so much you, of what I know about you, and I am directing a collaborator, young friend of mine to this poem, as she needs to see and feel it for herself. I’m so proud of where you’re going and how you are traveling there! ;-)))

    1. I love that…my passion, bravenes, boldness…I think that’s exactly what’s been coming through. 😊 Please do, I think it’s a message many need to hear and really take in, myself included. Sometimes we forget just how far we come and the strength and wisdom we gain along the way. I’m really excited to see where this journey will continue to take me. 😊❤️

  3. Yes, magic. The vibrant-wisdom storm born of lightning tears will often let flowers reign in rain and blossom with the seeds of discovery once the streams-of-consciousness begin to flow from the mountains high.
