Spread the love

I’ve attended a couple of webinars hosted by the Recovery Recovery Village Events with an Education Series presented by a nonprofit organization called Art from Ashes. Its mission is to “Empower struggling youth by providing creative programs that facilitate health and hope through expression, connection, and transformation.”

I’ve attended two out of four of their education series so far and have definitely felt empowered. Their mission aligns so beautifully with my own personal mission to empower others to connect with their creativity and see their beauty within.

These are two poems that I wrote during the second session of the series that I feel called to share with you, that you may see and feel the light within you burning bright. That you may feel the call of your soul longing to be free and share your light with the world. I know that can be scary, however, just know your one light shining brightly within the world makes a difference.

Poem 1

I have a message

From my soul

Coming special delivery

Just for you

Dear beautiful  butterfly

I see you

Scared to open your wings and fly

Afraid to flutter freely

Through the open sky

Don’t be scared

Release your inhibitions

Freedom is waiting

To meet you

In the sun-kissed sky

Poem 2

I am a spark of fire

Igniting light in others

Empowering them

To step out of the shadows

Inviting them

To release their fears

I am the sun

Upon your face

Warming you

From that cold dark place

Where you fear

You will expire from existence

An unnoticed ghost

Hanging in the balance

I am the spark

Reminding you

Of your light within

  1. these are two beautiful and very heart warming poems Jenna.. truly the light shines brightly in you (through your words)…thank you for sharing this with us and making us see more of our lights too.

      1. I hear you, I think this has been innate in me since I was young girl. I know if I’m doing my best to encourage and lift others up I’m making a difference in the lives of others and in the world. ❤️

      2. Well no matter what Kate my dear you have a wonderful heart that we can all see, you are making a difference. Too often we don’t see the impact we have on others. ❤️

    1. Kevin, thank you so much! 😊 That means the world to me! ❤️❤️ I’m really tuning into how I feel called to shine my light in the world. We all have such a desire to find our purpose and why in the world, I know I’ve found mine. 😁

  2. These beautiful poems really resonate with me. 🙂 In the past, many people have called me Ms.Invisible and a really mysterious person. There was a time when I was hiking in the woods. There was this area where it was a dark place with dead leaves covering the forest floor, but a ray of sunshine peaked through the canopy. I took this photo of this black and blue butterfly perched on a log and afterward it took off into the sky. That day was really meaningful for me

    1. Awww Sa, thank you for sharing that memory and personal experience with me! 🙂 I oftentimes feel a close affinity with various elements of nature. It’s like at that moment in time it’s carrying a special message just for me and my soul feels seen and heard in the most beautiful way.
