Spread the love

Hello all my radiant rays of sunshine! 😊 I apologize for the extended absence. I recently made some changes to the setup of my blog. Unfortunately, it caused some technical issues I feel like I’m still forever working on. Though honestly I’m making good progress. I hope you enjoy the first part of Katana’s story and my illustration that is still a work in progress.

Katana playfully sputtered about just below the glowing crystal blue waters. The reflection of lanterns dancing upon the water in the moonlight. Katana giggled delighted and mesmerized by their beauty.

Her thoughts were interrupted by muffled footsteps emerging from the garden to her left. A sense of panic struck her like a sharp sword. Though every sense told her to disappear into the depths of the water. She found herself frozen in place, unable to dictate control over her own body.

Strange speckles of light flickered in the shadows of the garden. Her eyebrows shot up in surprise. Fear mingled with fascination as she watched. As the flickering lights grew closer, a soft tinkling noise tickled Katana’s ears.

Before she could stop herself a strange feeling of giddiness took over her senses and laughter bubbled to the surface. Katana clamped her hand over her mouth trying to control the mirth overflowing within her. It was of no use, she was lightheaded and dizzy with revelry. She had an inkling that the answer to her sudden exhilaration was caused by the nearing flickers of light.

I hope everyone is doing well and are staying safe and healthy. Sending lots of love and hugs! 😊 πŸ’–

    1. I had a feeling you’d left a comment earlier but I didn’t see it in the app. I decided I’d better check the spam…and sure enough, there it was! πŸ™‚

You will love the finished illustration! It’s beautiful! πŸ™‚ Part 2 of the story is almost done. There’s another character illustration I’ll probably end up sharing in some sort of follow up post. I actually wrote another story last week…definitely on the different side for me, but still sounds very much like me in another context. I’m currently working on a small illustration for that story too. I always seem to have more ideas than I have time, hopefully that will change for the better soon! πŸ˜‰

      1. Yay! I know I will enjoy it and may even read it to my granddaughter whenever I see her. She will be a big sister on the 6th of July. Number two!!! ;-)))
