Santa and Fluffy walked to the back of the stables and stood in front of what looked like a high-tech handprint scanner…which was exactly what it appeared to be. Santa pressed his hand against it. It sounded a lot like Mrs. Claus saying, βWelcome back Jolly Red.β Santa chuckled cheerfully, βit warms my heart to hear Mrs. Clausβ voice as my greeting.β Fluffy smiled seeing into the deepest areas of Santa’s loving nature.
Fluffy could hardly hide his curiosity any longer as he waited for Santa to give him the okay to follow him beyond the high security door. Beyond the doors were elves and other approved personnel fervently working on various projects. Including a group of penguins in lab coats and safety goggles working on a rocket ship fueled by candy canes.
Just when Fluffy thought he couldn’t be more surprised by what he saw, Santa abruptly stopped and said to Fluffy, βI have met a lot of brave friends that dare to be different over my many years as Santa. Being a mystical character, I know the sadness of being taunted for being different and having others not believe in you. There was a season once when I felt the sadness and loss of belief in so many I doubted myself and my magic was disappearing.β
Fluffy had tears in his eyes listening to Santa. Santa went on, βyou see Fluffy we all have a magic light that shines within us, but when we stop believing in who we are and the special magic that makes us who we are, that light dims and may even go out. However, that spark can always be rekindled when we start to feel a little hope and begin to love and accept ourselves for who we are. Sometimes it helps to have someone else believe in us.β
Santa went on, βI’ve created this space and others alike for those who dare to be brave and different. Now someone I believe to be truly proud to be different is Mrs. Claus. Few know this about Mrs. Claus, she’s a rare and magical creature breeder and has specialized friends from all over the world. Her current project is a true beauty and as gentle and majestic as they come…at least in my book.β Seeing Fluffyβs surprised face, Santa winked as he carefully opened the door, as not to startle whatever awaited them inside. Santa opened the door and motioned Fluffy inside.
Fluffy unexpectedly came face to face with the creature, who was gracefully curled up on a soft bed of hay. Santa handed Fluffy a bag of marshmallows. Fluffy was surprised. He would’ve thought it would want an apple or a cube of sugar. Fluffy took a hesitant step forward, not wanting to spook it, as it was much larger than he was. Santa laughed cheerfully, βFluffy I’d like you to meet my first ever unicorn reindeer, Felicity.β Fluffy inched slowly over to Felicity and offered her a marshmallow. She gently took his offering. Santa said proudly, βshe certainly has the gentleness of any unicorn I’ve ever met, and the love for sugary treats just like our reindeer friends.β

how enchantingly endearing .. a unicorn reindeer! So delightful but even better is your message for that loving support of those who are ‘different’ <3
Those people need special care as they are sensitive and caring .. thank you dear friend!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! π π
Being a sensitive of soul I know we all need to know that everyone feels like the outsider at sometime or another, but it doesn’t make them any less special. π β€οΈ
special or precious … each and every one of us Jenna <3
Absolutely my dear Kate β€οΈ

believe in the magic in you -wise words in a touching story. we all need that special someone to tell us we are too. beautiful storytelling dear Jenna
Thank you Gina…it’s a topic that’s always been close to my heart. I completely agree we all need someone special to remind us how truly magical and special we are. I’ve been putting out video lessons for my k-2nd grade students on friendships, giving you compliments, telling others they are appreciated and why they appreciate the people in their lives, and filling up their own pocket full sunshine as well as others acts of kindness. π€β€οΈ
you are a wonderful teacher, teaching by example makes it an unforgettable lesson – well done Jenna
Thank you Ginaβ€οΈ I know there was a time early in mine and Brad’s relationship that I started just taking for granted the little things, but we had a talk about why he stopped doing things for me and I allowed myself to absorb that lesson because I never meant to make him feel unappreciated. I think it has definitely made me more self aware in my relationships with others and always trying to take time to let all those in my life know how special and appreciated they are. π
thank you for sharing that Jenna, so true about the small things in life
π absolutely π
Lovely uplifting story, Jenna, with a great positive message! π
Thank you Tom, I hope you are doing well! π β€οΈ
What a heartwarming story, Jenna! Your unicorn is beautiful. If only we accept others for what they are, this world would be a magical place. Love this sweet tale. β€οΈππ·
