Spread the love

Standing on the threshold of the storm

I relinquish my fears and step into the unknown

Basking in the caress of the wind tousling my hair

The kiss of freshly fallen rain damp upon my skin

Nature’s pulse thrumbing in sync with my own

The warmth of the night calming the tides brewing within

I surrender to the beckoning call of inspiration

The topic of self-worth has been weighing on my heart a lot recently. It’s such an important and essential lesson, no matter one’s age. I was recently reading a story on loving oneself to first grade students and having a heartfelt conversation with 5th graders about the effects of negative and positive self-talk on our self-confidence.

These interactions are a wonderful reminder for me why I create my art and stories to share with the world. I want to fill others with a sense of value, no matter their age. I want to bring a sense of joy, magic, and advenure for all those great and small.

It makes me happy to know I’ve overcome my once limiting belief that my art wasn’t as good as others. I’m glad I didn’t let my one college professor’s words crush my creative spirit and keep me from sharing my voice with the world. I’m not saying I never doubt myself and my own abilities at times, but looking back I’m proud of how far I’ve come.

Tucked away, veiled by the night’s mist

Luna’s presence couldn’t be missed

No tempest storm cast her shine aside

For her shadows give her the strength

To illuminate the world around her

Here’s a little reminder of how truly amazing you are, no matter the darkness that you’ve faced you are filled with your own magic and light that is uniquely yours to shine in the world.

Sending much love, light, and warm hugs to fill your hearts! πŸ€—β€οΈ
