I want to start by saying, I’m so happy for the opportunity to share in this fun writing challenge! Thank you my dearest Punam for inviting me to participate in Tell The Story Challenge’ …

As nighttime loomed on the horizon, an eerie mist creeped into the hills and valleys of Whimsy Island. The usually bright and cheery kingdom fell ominously silent.

Monti grew restless lurking in the shadows. He watched from the edge of Nymphs Forest, waiting for the Mist to submerge the castle in its menacing presence.

Finally, the mist had engulfed the entire kingdom, he knew it was time. He skulked along the castle wall, devious laughter bubbling to the surface. He cackled to himself, knowing the mischief he was about to unleash.

Monti slithered through the opening in the wall, slinking ever closer toward the castle entrance. Soon there’d no longer be any more frolicking merrily through the Meadows. No more fairies breezing through gardens humming.

Monti was pleased with his plans to snuff out the laughter, color, and suffocating joy that plagued the people and creatures of Whimsy Island. It was time for him to teach them how to relish in good old humdrum gloom.

Now to play the Tell The Story Challenge is relatively simple, you must tag three people to participate and their role is to create a story or tale or poem or just a verse to support the image offered them as inspiration. I select the following three readers …

      1. I love that one picture or story can be depicted in so many different ways! 😁😄❤️

      1. It was truly a wonderful read full of excitement, adventure, spooky delight and heartfelt hope! 😊 ❤️

  1. Hello Jenna! I’m so sorry I’m now just seeing this message! WordPress has been taking a while to update certain blogs I follow. Just getting caught up! 🙂 Hope you’ve been well post hurricane.

    1. Doing well for the most part…cold and flu season has caught up with my husband and I for a 2nd go round. It’s been going around at his work and my school and now we both have a head cold for the 2nd time this season. I woke up feeling fine Thursday morning, but by half through the day I was stuffy and miserable. Friday teaching classes all day I lost my voice.. 🤫🤧😷 But we’re trying to get lots of rest over the weekend. How are you doing?❤️🤗

  2. Thanks for considering me, Jenna! Sadly I’ve moved away from doing these prompts, but I can recommend someone else in my place if you’d like to take off my link and put theirs instead? 🙂

      1. I’ve branched out into a few different story genres myself if any might pique your interest – if any resonate well with you, I’d love to hear your thoughts! 😀
