Hello all my lovely rays of sunshine!
Today’s topic of choice weighing on my heart is Perspective. The way we choose to perceive the world around us is all about attitude and choice. I’ve known people in my life that have been touched by tremendous tragedy and yet still had such a good heart and were filled with hope, love, and light that bubbled contagiously into the lives and hearts of others they interacted with. It’s people that no matter what falls upon their should choose to have a positive outlook and continue to fill the world with love and kindness that truly touches my heart.
This morning I heard about yet another shooting at a Synagog in California, which truly breaks my heart as my thoughts and prayers go out to the lives that were touched by this tragedy that they may find the strength and courage in them that they need in this difficult time. So many countries around the world have been touched by grief and tragic incidents like this and it’s easy to be fueled with anger and hostility for these horrific acts of persecution. It’s easy to let fear into our hearts and take over our lives.
However, these kinds of negative perspectives only invite more negativity into our lives and the world around us. This is not to say that we shouldn’t feel sadness or accept such horrible acts of cruelty and persecution as a natural part of life. Just the opposite I believe that it’s a call to action to put more tolerance, love, kindness, empathy, and compassion into our hearts, lives, and the world around us.
On that note, though I was not selected, I felt compelled to join in on this weeks Quote me 3.2.1. Challenge created by Rory over at A Guy Called Bloke. This week’s challenge is on having A Positive Outlook, which feels uniquely fitting to my hearts call to action encouraging the world to embrace their unique shine and share it with the world today!

“We’re all broken thats how the light gets in.”
This quote by Ernest Hemingway reminds me of the Japanese tradition Kintsugi repairing broken pottery with a special lacquer dusted with gold, silver, or platinum. This tradition of celebrating the beauty in the broken and wearing the scar as a badge of honor is simply touching.
“What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us.”
Such a quote full of wisdom, after all it’s what’s on the inside of us that counts. It’s where our unique essence flows waiting to come alive and be shared with the world. Don’t be afraid of the light that burns deep within you waiting for you to set the word on fire with the warmth that you have to offer.
“For the record darling, not all change feels positive in the beginning.”
Change (even good change) can feel utterly dark and lonely in the beginning. However, as you continue to move forward one day at a time with courage placed upon your shoulders clarity slowly comes into view and we better understand the reason behind the journey and the road gets easier to bear as you continue down the path.
So today, I hope I’ve brought you a reminder of how special you are. Keeping letting your light shine bright and sprinkle a little sparkle wherever you go. Let your warmth and kindness melt away the ice from the hearts of the broken to fill the cracks with their golden light.
