Happy St. Patrick’s day my radiant sunshines!

Okay, last weekend I realized that St. Patrick’s Day was right around the corner and I was struck with inspiration for a cute short story all around the color green. I’ve shared it with some little ones who have absolutely loved it. I’ve also started a few sketches for the illustrations, which I’m happy to give a sneak peek of.
They say if you eat too much, you’ll dream strange things. Well, last night I think I ate too many things that were green!
You see, as I laid curled up nice and snug beneath the covers, I had green things dancing in my head.
First, I dreamed that my bed turned into an old Volkswagen bus roaming through green winding hills.
Then, into an emerald green spaceship taking me to the moon where I met and talked with Sprocket the space cat.
Next, I began my descent from the moon. I said goodbye to Sprocket as I traded him my spaceship for his hot air balloon.
Coming back to earth, flying high through the sky I saw many strange things. Whatever did I see, you ask?
It all started when I was sailing over the jungle, I swear I saw a giant green gorilla eating plantains!
Crossing over the Blue Lagoon I saw a turtle wearing goggles doing backstrokes.
Then, as I neared my house, I saw a crocodile wearing a Tootoo dancing down my street!
Finally, safe back in my own room, I thought it was all over, that’s when I saw a chameleon looking at me!
I opened my eyes wide and said, “today I’m only eating things that are red!”

Okay, granted this story could be a future children’s storybook or book series. It’s still got a long road before all the I’ll be complete. It was a fun and interesting adventure outside my usual writing preferences. I invite any and all feedback and thoughts my radiant lights love to shine upon this project.
Here’s to a week filled with many colors to bring happiness and adventure to each and every day! ❤️
Hoep you have a lovely week! <3 ☘☘☘
Thank you, you too! 🌈🍀😁
Fun… Always wonderful words and precious artwork. I could see reading this to my granddaughter and making it very animated through your words. Yeah, she’d love it! Papa rules! Ha
Hehe…I read it to three of my kindergarten classes (very animated of course) and they enjoyed it. I also turned the first 2 sketches into coloring sheets for them to color, which they loved. I could definitely see you reading this to your grandaughter and bringing the story to life! 🙂
Awe, I love the little ones… So much energy, imagination and smiles!

I think this will turn into a fine children’s story! I can see myself reading this to my kids I tutor. Enjoying the sketch work. For some reason I was thinking of Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss, but it’s probably because I am hungry! 😀
