1. Where are you from?
I grew up in a few very small towns in upstate NY. I moved to FL about 10 years ago. It was quite the culture shock needless to say. I’ve met many wonderful people in this chapter of my story, but there are other areas of the world that beckon me and will someday add new chapters to my story.
2. Do you think of yourself more as an early bird or night owl?
I am definitely a morning person, I get up around 4 every morning (maybe 5 on the weekends) and I’m in bed by 9 on weeknights (or as I call it school nights because I work in a school).
3. What is your birthstone?
Images found on Pinterest
4. What’s your favorite season of the year and why?
Autumn because it is timeless and magical, a gentle reminder at how beautiful and inspiring change can be. For some inspired autumn magic, check out my poem The Golden Embers of Autumn.
These are some drawings I did on paper bags for the Thanksgiving food drive that last year at a local school. We wanted to make them festive to send home not only food to help their families, but also some thoughtful holiday cheer.
5. What’s a favorite quote that’s really inspired you?
My blog title is the “Sunshine Artist,” however, I truly find that the moon’s light is also inspiring and magical (even if I’m not a night owl). Maybe it’s the dreamer in me or the whimsical artist, but Iian Shamir, with all his quotes about advice from various elements of nature truly inspires me.
6. If you could choose one fantasy world to visit for a day, which one would it be?
I feel enchanted and inspired by the fantasy worlds my own mind is always creating, one of my favorites is in a recent poem of mine, Surrender to the Sea.
7, How do you like to wind down after a busy day?
Recently it’s been by reading for a half an hour to an hour before bed, it’s a nice way to unwind. Granted sometimes, I don’t want to stop reading…even though my eyes want to close and say goodnight to the day.
7. What would your dream job be?
I would love to be a full-time blogger who writes and illustrates her own works. Technically the blog allows me to do just this, just not earning a paycheck from it.
8. Why did you start blogging?
Blogging has allowed me to connect with my creativity as well as share it with others to spread a little light, hope, and inspiration.
9. What have you enjoyed most about blogging so far?
Finding a family here in the blogging community. So many wonderful friends that have touched my life through their warm hearts, support, encouragement, creativity, inspiration, humor, passion, and adventurous souls.
10. Which of your own blog posts would you recommend to new readers first?
One of my favorites is Whispers of the Night: A Muses Gift
It truly embodies the essence of what this blog is all about and gives a wonderful reminder of how unique and special each and every one of us really us.
My Writer’s Mission Statement because I think it’ll give light to why I blog and seek to achieve as a writer, artist, and a blogger.
To close this post, I’m not going to create my own questions, nor am I going to tag others. Instead, I’d like to take the time to thank all of you who support, encourage, and inspire me. Here’s a special warm embrace going out to Winnie, Richa, Gina, Punam, Carolyn, and Sa for being constant rays of sunshine filling my heart with warmth, kindness, and friendship and helping to create this family that means a lot to me. Please stop by and check out each of their blogs as they are sure to shine their light on you and fill you with warmth, not to mention their amazing writing will pull you in and leave you wanting more!
Thank you to each and every person that I meet, as you continue to add depth to the joy writing, drawing, and blogging brings me. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to meet new friends and grow my blogging community family.
From my heart to yours,
Embrace your shine, and let your light shine bright!
