Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high
I’d give to you the day just like today
If I had a song that I could sing for you
I’d sing a song to make you feel this way

Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high
I’d tell a tale sure to make you smile
If I had a wish that I could wish for you
I’d make a wish for sunshine for all the while

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost all the time makes me high
Sunshine almost always
This song, Sunshine On My Shoulders by John Denver holds special meaning for me. My grandmother passed away when I was 11 at the young age of 56 after years of fighting cancer, even be I was born. John Denver was one of her favorite musicians. My family played this song at her funeral. I remember very vividly that it was a sunny day and I could feel the warmth of the sunshine on my shoulders like my grandmother’s spirit was there telling me that no matter where I want her warmth and love would be with me in the sunshine and reflected in the beauty of sunshine on the water.
It is a lovely song, Jenna! Great post! It seems like the song was made for you. You’re one of the sunshine here in the blogosphere. 😊❤️🌹

Losing a love one is painful; remembering them when they are gone is heartbreaking..
That is definitely so true. I’m glad I got to have many warm and loving memories with my grandma before she passed away, even though I was young. She was a huge part of the younger part of my years growing up. I love that I feel like the sunshine is her smiling down at me and letting me know that she’s always present in my heart and filling me with her love. ❤️❤️ 🙂
It always feel.good to bring joy to someone.
I wholeheartedly agree.😊

Thank you so much Gina! 🤗 I was looking at these photos I took over the weekend and that song came to mind, so of course it made me think of my grandma. It’s one of those bittersweet memories. While the pain will always be there from the loss, I know my grandma is always with me in spirit wherever I go. Definitely a comforting thought for me.❤️
