Happy Friday, it’s time for this week’s Fun Friday Flashback
ABOUT THE TAG
Every Friday I will post a questionnaire, photos, quotes and/or a poem on a specific “topic” taking us back in time and nominate 3 bloggers, who in turn will post about that SAME topic (with their own unique spin) and nominate 3 bloggers of their own, spreading the“Fun Friday Flashback” and send them traveling through time and space.
It’s all about taking fun trips down memory lane and choosing the best way possible to travel back in time. Today’s travel through time is all about today’s playlist retro style, if your life were a mixed tape what songs would be on it?
1. I Can’t Stop That Feeling (Justin Timberlake 2016)
This song is frequently one I get caught in my mind and I’m quite okay with that. It’s a good feeling to have a little extra sunshine in my pocket.
2. You Drive Me Crazy (Britney Spears 1999)
My sweetheart is the love of my life and we’re always making each other smile and laugh, all the while making each other a little crazy from time to time, but in a good way.
3. Complicated (Avril Lavigne 2002)
Sometimes people in our lives complicate things with the need make themselves something or someone they’re not. They don’t realize, they’re already a true gem.
4. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (Cyndi Lauper 1983)
Hey sometimes, a girl just wants to have fun. Life is too short to be all work and no play.
5. Brighter Than The Sun (Colbie Caillat 2011)
The words and spirit of this song are just beautiful and light me up. Remember that you have the power within you to shine brighter than the sun.
6. Shatter Me (Lindsey Stirling 2014)
“This album is all about self-discovery and breaking free from the constraints and barriers that we put on ourselves, and the restrictions that world puts on us. I’m super excited to release the music video “Shatter Me” because it epitomizes this concept and shows how difficult it is to break out of old habits and have the courage to step out of our comfort zones into the light.” – Lindsey Stirling
Lindsey is a kindred spirit her love of music (especially the violin), and her desire to share the importance of “stepping out of your comfort zone and into the light.”
7. What A Girl Is (Dove Cameron 2015)
Dove Cameron has a lot of songs that have a wonderful message for young girls. Not to mention her lyrics are inspiring to both girls and women everywhere.
8. Make it Shine (Victoria Justice 2011)
We all need to remember that we are enough, that we are valuable, and that it’s never too late to go after our dreams and “make it shine.”
9. Try Everything (Shakira 2016)
What a wonderful life lesson, it’s okay to fall, but it’s important to get back up. If we’re not falling and making mistakes, we’re not growing. Don’t play it safe, just because you’re afraid of falling. A reminder to always push me a little further outside my comfort zone.
10. I’m Just A Girl (No Doubt 1995)
As a strong believer in equal rights for men and women, this one speaks volumes for me. The stereotypes and limitations placed on girls. Women and girls have a voice and we’re more than just a pretty face.
11. I Hope You Dance (Lee Ann Womack 2000)
An emblem of hope and encouragement to take chances. A reminder that opportunities in life will you pass if you choose to sit it out. When you have a chance in life don’t sit it out, but dance. Leaving this one on a positive and upbeat note, I hope you always choose to dance!
Happy Friday may your mixed tape brighten your day and be an upbeat note to encourage you to always dance and move your feet, even if you stumble and fall along the way, it’s a risk worth taking.
