Kundalini Yoga is a style of yoga I’ve been exploring on and off over the last 6 months. I find it challenges and intensifies my sense of awareness. It was a style of yoga I hadn’t been familiar with before this, I wanted to give something different a try and needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised and now try to blend it into my regular cycle of yoga practices and meditation.
The opening mantra in Kundalini yoga is “ONG NAMO GURU DEV NAMO,” which is roughly translated…”I am making myself receptive, I am making myself a vehicle for higher consciousness, for transformation to come through me that already exists within me” or “I honor the divine within myself, I am connected to a higher plane, that which made me.” There are many other ways it can be translated, however, these are a few of the translations Brett Larkins shares that resonated with me from her tune in video, which I’ve shared below.
She is currently doing a 6-day Kundalini challenge going for this week, which I’ve shared up to today’s day four below if your interested or even just curious. I’ve also tossed in one of her guided Kundalini meditation videos that I’ve been doing as a daily meditation for the week. This is the yoga I’m doing each morning this week leading up to the equinox on this Saturday, which I have another wonderful special autumnal equinox yoga video that I’m excited to share with you on Saturday.
Namaste the divine light radiating from heart to your heart!
Wow, this is amazing! 🙂
It’s been a while since I have indulged in yoga and your post has motivated me to get up and get going right away!❤
Yay!😁 That’s awesome!❤️😊
It’s been a while for me too! Thank you for sharing! 😊❤️🌹
You’re very welcome!❤️ 😊 I’ve been trying to experiment with different styles of yoga and found kundalini yoga very different and interesting.🙏🤗
🤗❤️
Reminded me of mandatory yoga classes in school! Thanks for the share Jenna. 🙏
You’re welcome, hopefully you enjoyed the yoga in school…I always did, but I know it’s not for everyone. 😊❤️
You are right, it is not for everyone. It connects the soul and the body. But most see it as just a form of exercise. ☺️
Yes indeed. For me it’s definitely a mind, body, soul experience.🙏
Though understandably everyone has to find what works for them.😊❤️
That’s wonderful Jenna. I am sure you feel so much at peace with yourself. 😊
Thank you Punam, it definitely does help! 🙂
I been planning on doing yoga for sometime now, possibly in the new year once things get a little settled down, your post has reignited the fire!
Awww I’m glad to hear that! 🙂
I’ve been wanting to do a a Barre class maybe after the new year. For now I’ve been doing some cute barre ballet videos posted by an adorable ballet teacher on youtube. 🙂
I prefer more energetic work outs and have been to dance class etc, very modern dance class, looking for something a little mellow in the future. ballet!! WOW you are amazing if you can do ballet!
I did it when I was younger (a little rusty now). But I was taking a class for about 2 months, but with school starting back up it was too long of a day. So doing fun videos at home for strength and balance in adition to my yoga practice is nice. 🙂 ❤️
great that you have the fundamentals then, starting again won’t seem so daunting, good luck!
🙂 Thank you!
I have been doing basics of yoga for quite a while now…and i really want to have a formal training/course but i just can’t find the right timing to do it…and reading your post here made me think: maybe now is the right timing..
I enjoy a lot of online videos that I do on my own, but I also attend a formal class twice a week. 🙂 It’s a great place to gain support and community while at the same time bring balance to my every day life. :
My mom used to do yoga back in her pre university, so she did suggest it to me quite some time ago. But clumsy that I am, I rarely got any right😅
But you are right about how even a well done meditation can turn out to so pleasant and relaxing!
Loved your post! 😘
So very true. It took me a while to realize my yoga practice wasn’t about perfection, but about listening to your body and connecting your mind body and soul for awareness and helping to find your center. 😁….I’m truly clumsy and unbaked on some days, 😜 but I’ve found with practice, taking it slow, and listening to my body in the moment I’ve greatly improved along the way.🙏🤗❤️
Point noted😄👍
