Spread the love

Every Friday I will post a questionnaire, photos, quotes, and/or a poem on a specific “topic” taking us back in time and nominate 3 bloggers, who in turn will post about that SAME topic (with their own unique spin) and nominate 3 bloggers of their own, spreading the“Fun Friday Flashback” and send them traveling through time and space.

It’s all about taking fun trips down memory lane and choosing the best way possible to travel back in time. Today’s travel through time will take you back via your favorite fantasy novel or movie. Choose a character from your favorite fantasy movie or book and write a short story or poem depicting that character.

  • Thank the Selector and do not forget to tag/create a “ping-back!”
  • Select 3 Bloggers to Join in the fun 🙂
  • Use the tag Fun Friday Flashback
  • Volunteer Voyagers are always welcome aboard this time machine!

Rae Carson’s book series, The Girl of Fire and Thorns is sensational! It’s about the heroine of the story, Lucero-Elisa’s journey of coming of age, self-discovery, faith, and learning to love herself for who she is. It was a book series that I couldn’t put down and it made me tingle with anticipation, from beginning to end.

“You look beautiful,” Alodia says.
I startle at the compliment. Then I smile. “I’m beautiful to the one person who matters.”
She nods. “Hector’s mouth is going to drop open when he sees you.”
“I hope so. But I meant me. I’m beautiful to me.”

The Fire Within

A soft burning fire within

Floods, oozing through my skin

Deep down from within,

Motion, passion from a world unknown

Something to discover,

A melody of the drums

Music seeps from the sky

Earth melting her pulse with mine

Breathing my name,

A sweet sound,

The joy of life

I hope everyone had a wonderful week and find time to recharge their mind, body, and soul over the weekend! I open this week’s challenge to all those lovers of a good fantasy book or movie, come travel through the world of fantasy with me!

    1. I read all three books within less than a week, because I had to know what happened next. The poem was actually one I wrote in high school, which I recently stumbled upon and thought it does a great job to connect with the female heroine of the books. 🙂

      1. Yes! But I haven’t read her books her yet. They were on my list to read but I forgot all about them. Your books reminded me.
