There’s only one way out she told herself, as she grabbed the book without looking back. Sharp branches clawed at her as she ran frantically into the night. Shadows lurked all around her, but she couldn’t stop. She was the last bookkeeper.
The burden was hers to bear, the girl with the gold and silver hair. For she was the keeper of both the day and the night. It was her duty to travel from realm to realm to bring balance, forever destined to be the interloper.
A descendant of Selene and Helios, the tome she carried was a relic from Mount Olympus. Reaching a hidden temple at the edge of the forest, she opened the sacred heirloom to create a portal to another dimension, daylight growing stronger within her.
