Hello my lovely sunshines, it’s time for another “Fun Friday Flashback” Tag taking us back in time!
ABOUT THE TAG
Every Friday I will post a questionnaire, photos, quotes and/or a poem on a specific “topic” taking us back in time and nominate 3 bloggers, who in turn will post about that SAME topic (with their own unique spin) and nominate 3 bloggers of their own, spreading the“Fun Friday Flashback” and send them traveling through time and space. It’s all about taking fun trips down memory lane and choosing the best way possible to travel back in time.
Today’s travel through time will take you back to capture women who are strong, yet adorably quirky using the above quote as inspiration. You can focus on just one woman or multiple women of your choice. They can be book characters, movie characters, tv characters, authors, scientists, fictional or realistic, the choice is yours. The goal is to share how these strong female characters have owned their uniqueness and inspired you.
One of my favorite rock’n women I feel empowered by is Mayim Bialik, she’s a mom, book author, and actress who holds a Ph.D. in neuroscience from UCLA.
Mayim Bialik had her first appearance in the in TV series Blossom running from 1990-1995. Blossom was a fun, smart, and spunky teen living in an “unconventional” family.
Returning to acting as an adult, Mayim plays Amy Farrah Fowler on The Big Bang Theory, another smart, funny, and adorably quirky female character.
She’s fabulously smart, funny, and adorably quirky both on and off TV…I love the way she own’s it! She takes risks that are in alignment with her beliefs (both on and off TV) without apology, for example putting out her book “Girling Up: How to Be Strong, Smart and Spectacular.” She wants girls to have advice that she didn’t have growing up, and wrote her book through her own experiences and education, talk about “women empowering women!”
It’s empowering the way Mayim Bialik speaks her mind and stays true to her beliefs, for example, as a vegan completing her doctorate she focused on studies where she wouldn’t have to experiment on animals. I love how openly she speaks her mind and doesn’t shy away from awkward conversations, but rather speaks about them with a good sense of humor. Strong women like Mayim have helped me proudly own my awkward quirkiness and stand up for what I believe in.
Happy Friday Time Travelers, I hope you found this both fun and inspiring!
