Spread the love

A Poem of Hope and Empowerment: Moonlight Promise by Jenna Gee

The sun turns its back

Darkness creeps in

Fear is lurking in the shadows

Fear quickly turns into panic

Panic threatening to choke the light out of me

Just then the moon peeks out from behind the shadows

Her light shines brightly upon me

Sending currents of hope coursing through me

I embrace the feeling of the light within me

It’s warmth and safe

It’s full of love and passion

It embodies the darkest corners of my heart and soul

It promises to protect me from the shadows that once haunted me.

During the day we’re empowered by the light of the sun, but when night falls and darkness casts its shadows…fear, panic, and worry creep about. Know that the sun has not turned her back on you, but offered you the beauty, friendship, and protection of the moon to cast away the shadows from the darkest corners of our souls that she may provide us with warm, love, and protection in the darkest hour.

May your day be filled not only with sunshine; but also with the light of the moon in your darkest hours. Happy Tuesday my lovely rays of sunshine!

  1. I was looking forward to that full lunar eclipse here in Australia…and you wouldn’t believe it, clouds came over for the first time after 3 cloudless weeks. I knew she was still there and her light will never diminish as she stands in for the sun during the night. Maybe next time, this one was just asking me to have faith in that moonlight promise <3 😀

    1. Awww I love you’re perspective, I think you’re definitely right for sure she just wanted to remind you to have a little faith because she’s still there.😉❤️

    1. It was in my head as I was trying to go to sleep last night, so I quickly recorded it into the notes on my phone, after that I was able to sleep peacefully knowing I’d taken the time to document my poem rather than let it slip away. 🙂 ❤️

  2. Nice! Although, this reminds me of the last time I went to see the full Moon in Helsinki, and that ended in a complete disaster.

    The poem itself is marvelous!

    1. I tried to see an eclipse when it was here in the states last year, but it didn’t go over real well in the end either so I can relate. 😉

    1. Thank you! Honestly, it was something from my book that inspired me. The main character after losing one of her best friends (life-long) in a plane accident she started having panic attacks and bouts of anxiety. Well she was in her family’s church where the funeral had been held for a normal Sunday church service and she started having a panic attack thinking about the funeral being held there and her grandmother lovingly puts her hand on her shoulder which gives her hope and pulls her out of the distress she was feeling.

The sun always seems to be a symbol of hope and happiness, but it’s the moon that gives us light and love for peace of mind in the darkest hours. (so to speak of course) 😉

I’m truly glad you enjoyed it! ❤️
