Choosing a word for the year is something many individuals choose to do as part of a mindful movement into a new year. This year I decided to do a word of the month. This month my word is “dream.” For some people, the word dream is seen as having a negative vibe when talking about goal setting.
However, when you’re exploring all the possibilities for setting a goal it’s important to set aside any fear of using the word dream or dreams and look at all your possibilities, don’t let your fear hold you back. Fear keeps you from thinking big, it keeps you too grounded and you’re unable to see what could be if we just dared to imagine and have a little faith.
There are so many things that exist today because someone dared to dream bigger than currently possible. People who dare to dream are willing to explore unknown or unventured territories. These people throughout history are seen as the great minds of their time, inventors, scientists, innovators, etc. These individuals are not afraid to think outside the box and look at things creatively from a new angle. They have ambition, motivation, and creativity to help challenge the minds of those who want to play it safe all the time.
I found a quote that I simply adore. I don’t know who the author is, but I think this quote puts my feelings into words so beautifully!
“There’s no star too far, and no dream too grand. So shake the fairy dust and make a wish the magic is in your hands!” –Unknown Author
What I believe this quote is saying is that it’s up to us as individuals to be brave enough to dream, to imagine the unthinkable and then follow through and make it happen. What sets a simple daydreamer apart from someone who dares to dream big, is the ability to put their dreams into action and go for it, no matter who discourages them. They have the fire and the passion to make it happen. Those that are brave enough to dream big, persevere, and have faith will make their dreams happen.
So don’t be afraid to take the first step in getting there. Use your imagination, dream big, and then shake things up to make your imagination come to life!
Sadly I’m having difficulty getting images of my journal artwork for this week that I want to share with you as it is definitely beautiful. I hope you enjoy the one above. My camera on my phone does not want to capture all the color and sparkle from the metallic glittery effects of my gel pens. If I’m able to I will update and share the other two images from this last week.
